Gold chart update

Between March and September[2008] the price of gold declined almost 300$ (1032$ - 736$), So far thats the biggest decline both in nominal and percentage terms – since the global gold bull market had begun. At the same time the price of Silver declined more then 50% (21.34$ - 10.24$). However, as both gold and silver reached some kind of cyclical bottom a sharp rally then followed:gold 179$(736$ - 915$) and silver 3.51$(10.24$ - 13.76$).Currently gold is trading around 877$ and silver 13.20$.Despite or given the recent extreme volatile price action it is likely that an important cyclical bottom is in for the price of gold and silver. Gold support and resistance : ~736$, ~831$ <> ~905$, ~988$, ~1032$.

Galena: A lead sulfide, the Gold

Lead, atomic number of 82, is very soft, blue-gray, metallic element and has been used since antiquity. Because it is so soft, lead is usually alloyed with other elements. Water pipes in ancient Rome, some of which still carry water, were made of lead. The English words plumber and plumbing are derived from the Latin word for lead, plumbum. Plumbum is also the source of the chemical symbol for lead, Pb.
Lead is a very heavy element. Native lead was found in Sweden, but it is rare to have the element alone in nature. Combined with other elements, it forms a variety of interesting and beautiful minerals, all of which are heavy due to their lead content. The most significant lead mineral is galena (PbS, lead sulfide). Galena deposits have been worked worldwide for their lead. During the Civil War, the Union Army made bullets from lead derived from a galena mine at Balmat, New York. Anglesite and cerussite ((PbSO4, lead sulfate and PbCO3, lead carbonate respectively) are two other lead-based minerals.
All major radioactive elements (such as uranium) break down and create lead as one of their end products. Interestingly, lead is used to safely store radioactive materials because it absorbs radiation from the radioactive isotopes.
Lead is toxic. It can cause damage to the digestive and nervous systems, so its use in some applications has been discontinued. Lead poisoning is monitored in children to prevent any permanent damage. At one time lead was added to gasoline to eliminate “knock” in car engines. It was also in paint, but the lead-based paints have a sweet taste, and some children were eating the paint and getting serious lead poisoning.

Gold Jewellery at Manufacturers

Gold Information
Throughout the history gold was used in decorating tombs and houses of worship on all continents. However, the first objects made of gold, dated 5 millenniums ago was discovered in Egypt. British explorers Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon in 1923 found the tomb of Tutankhamun filled with state of the art gold articles. In 1876 a notorious German treasure hunter discovered a huge number of different works of art made of pure gold in ancient citadel of Mycenie located in the mid eastern Peloponnese of Greece. These beautiful objects of art were crafted by local artists in mid of the 4 th century B.C. Gold is always occurred in its pure form, not mixed with other metals. Because it's color and durability, gold remains the favorite material for creating the most admirable objects of art and jewelry.Pure (100%) gold is too soft, and is usually mixed with other metal alloys (silver, copper, nickel and zinc) to make it stronger and more durable for jewelry.
What is a karat?
The karat indicates the amount of pure gold in the metal. The higher the karat, the higher the percentage of pure gold in the metal.

Sell Gold Jewellery

Do you have gold jewellery pieces that have seen more time in a drawer than on your wrist, hand or neck? Well why are you letting those pieces collect dust? Sell gold jewellery and put cash in your pocket. All gold has value. Necklaces, watch bands, class rings, if it's gold, you'll get paid. I thought it was too good to be true, but it really works. I had links that were taken out of a gold watch and a gold necklace I wore as a child. These items sat in a drawer for years until I decided to sell gold jewellery for myself. I took them to one of the thousands of authorized dealers that are just sitting and waiting for people like us to sell gold jewellery for top dollar. In minutes, the pieces were weighed, tested for authenticity, tagged and bagged. In 15 minutes I had $175, for something that I was never going to use again.

How is gold formed

Gold is formed as the result of molten rock, called magma, being intruded into solid rock. As the magma cools andsolidifies, water and other volatile substances separateout from the magma under high pressure. The high pressureof hot water and steam force open fissures in thesurrounding solid rock, through which these hydrothermalsolutions travel. When the hydrothermal solutions cool, deposition of material occurs, especially quartz in theform of quartz veins.

Because gold has a relatively low melting temperature, itis sometimes carried by these hydrothermal solutions throughthe fissures in the rock and solidifies inside the quartzveins. Thus, the place to look for gold is usually inquartz veins near the intrusion of a magma body. One exampleis the so-called Mother Lode of the Sierra Nevada inCalifornia. If these quartz veins are eroded, the goldmay be found in streams and rivers; this explains whythe 49-ers of the last century were able to pan for goldin the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
